Luke Merfeld Takes Season Opening Late Model Win at Dubuque Speedway

Dubuque, Iowa: The 2016 IMCA Weekly Point Racing season got underway on Sunday night at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway. The racing action was very good and an added bonus, the final checkered flag of the night waved at approximately 8:30 allowing fans plenty of time to get home for a good nights rest before starting the work week.
The Out Pace Racing Products IMCA late Model feature ran 25 very fast caution free laps with Dubuque racer Luke Merfeld taking his new Trackstar chassis to a very impressive win. Merfeld ran away from the field in scoring the win ahead of Jason Rauen and Luke Goedert.
Sunday, May 1st the Dubuque County Fairgrounds Speedway will present a Modified Special event, with extra money on the line for both the Merfeld Brothers Automotive IMCA Modifieds and the GSI Collision Specialists IMCA Sportmods, the Stock Cars will also have bonus money available. The Late Models will have the night off.
